so tutorial today was a disaster. my answers were ALL WRONG for exercise one. SIGH. this continued with a worksheet on isobars, air pressure, formation of depressions, anticyclones and types of clouds IN FRENCH. i know it shouldn't be a surprise to me, but i just felt so lost. grrr.

so i went for a walk to look for Hermes since HoHo wanted me to check out his Birkins. in my sweater and jeans i walked down st germain de pres. LV was selling luggage labelled SGP and i was thinking, why does it say Singapore?!?! then i realised it was St Germain de Pres. CHEY. anyway, Singaporeans could buy it and use in Singapore too!

Walked into GAP since there was a sale. The shop boy looked EXACTLY like Peter S. Hedger. WTH. He looked like how I imagined Peter to grown up into (very unlike reality: cue beer belly and rock n roll). So I did the dumbest thing I could do. Stare at his face as he talked to me in his french accented english. sssiiiiggggghhhh. WHAT IS MY LIFE. How can someone halfway across the world look so much like the primary school boy I fancied? Strange, but made my day slightly better. (:

Next, walked into Longchamp to check out their bags since everyone is asking me to get one because I'm in Paris. Sorry to disappoint, but I refuse to walk into their store ever again. Their service was lousy, and treated me like I was invisible. Racist shop girl just "bonjoured" me halfheartedly and continued to serve other customers thus blocking my path! So I just calmly walked out and "diao" her as I walked out with pride. (Childish I admit, but I'm no pushover!)

After that bad experience at Longchamp, I continued just walking aimlessly along the little streets and found myself in a cute boutique . The shop lady was so nice to me (: this was a huge factor for me in my decision to buy a bag and pouch. Sure it was slightly steep in price and not a luxury brand but that's what I love about shopping. Buying brandless pretty looking stuff from nice kind people who deserve the money :) Oh look I found their website! La Boutique de Louise

I went home for a home-made dinner with Jessie and her friend Danielle from Michigan. (: Glad the day ended on a higher note. Thankful and full of praise for how this week is turning out.

been busy this last week. i'm supposed to feel fulfilled and accomplished with all these things that i've done. things like meeting up with old friends, reading the books i want to read, having the quiet time i always wanted, watching re-runs, playing tons of squash and running.

anyway, saturday was a day to be thankful for. :) participated in nparks biodiversity race, and came in second! getting two novelty prizes! i love the singapore stamp album given. the new friends made with ntu, such nice people! and i discovered so much about butterflies and dragonflies. learnt to appreciate the biodiversity that singapore has, amidst all our hectic lives. thanks celine for getting us to join such competitions!

now, back to reality.

i love this movie. SO MIND BLOWING. i hope ivan can pass it to me. christopher nolan is one of the best director and writer of this generation. i can't wait for inception. LUCID DREAMING. and the disgustingly good cast. and hans zimmer for music. ahhhh. i thought i wanted to talk about coming back to reality? okay, maybe reality just sucks.

i fell down at purvis st. today while looking at some awful pink car. it was so not worth it ): if i tripped over the step because i was looking at the new audi r8 or some vintage rolls royce then it's ok. BUT NO. it was a PINK CAR WITH TONS OF CARTOONS STICKERS. (btw the interior was pink too, WHY?!) well done. THANKS AHHH BALLLL! ask me to see this kinda thing. miss my step. booooo!

the week's summary:
squash on wednesday was awesome.
thursday worked, the jogging at botanics. tiring!
friday HAPPY BURSTDAY BALL! hope you liked the dinner, drinks and company!
oh the court thing was super scary, and running errands was a mad rush, but i'm quite happy i got to help my dad out, instead of being helpless all the time. pray that it'll be over in 4 weeks!
saturday was packed with activities too. can't wait for the biodiversity race next week!!!

anyway, i'm bringing my giant bruise to work tmr. so it's sleep time. BYE!

oh wait. just want to say, i'm so happy with all my new books, but i can't complete them in time... one chapter a night is just not cutting it. also, sorbonne has replied the other new media guy who's going to paris. i hope the geog dept emails me soon. i'm getting a bit worried. ): and have a bad feeling about it. gonna pray about it before i sleep. night!!!

just got back from funan! shag... but happy!
i'm hooked onto cheryl cole's fight for this love! british pop song. lol. like... so spice girl.

eh, what have i been up to. SQUASH! on saturday morning. spontaneous squash. not bad. BUT NO BALL. haha. luckily we managed to get one from some kind souls playing next court.
lunch with dearest christine and linnie at holland v after that, so rush! but it was a good meet up :) i miss you girls! and jane. of course. as usual. too bad we had to leave so soon and we forgot to take a picture! well, thats ok actually, i look terrible after squash.then i went home and there was a long jam along bukit timah. boo. fell asleep on the bus, for 15mins and it didn't even pass ONE bus stop! crazy slow. the old man sitting in front of me got so bored he started chatting me up. too bad the next stop was my stop! so i had to cut his conversation short.

bathed and chiong to botanic gardens! and walked forever to find man yiu. then we walked the evolution garden... left early for dinner. so tired when i got home, just knocked out after bathing.

friday night was crazy! went to meet grace for drinks and get hard disk, sweater. she gave me a sweater with an animal printed in the middle! rachel berry from glee pls! haha. we went to try the nutella tart from everything with fries, which i loved while grace had egg soup, not bad too. then we saw prof alan ziegler! and he chat with us. geog profs ftw! then james terry, lim han she came too! with one other prof (i dont know him). that's like... my water and hazards profs! so cool! james terry told us how cheap vodka is in fiji and lim han she was begging us not to tell the kids in uni what a drinker she is. hahaha. then i taught grace how to fold the origami rose! (but i didn't teach the guys) the guys took it and burnt the sides. looked really nice! then we poured perfume on it to get rid of the burnt smell. :) ended the night outside 7eleven with the guys going mad making a bong. so smelly la. grr. stam sent me home, and i got mary to send grace and jasper. MARY YOU HORRID DRIVER. i'll never endanger my friends lives again. i saw his car swerve almost out of control along ulu pandan. and he didn't have a drop of drink. so mad at him. argh! anyway, here's our rose!
and my eiffel tower clip! so pretty right! i like it :D

ok. i'm tired now. so sad that grace is gone to thailand :( and chingyi is in hk.
i hope they all have a safe trip. especially last night! grace and manyan on the coach when it was pouring with thunderstorm... so worried for them. aiyoh. pray for them la! time for dinner! bye!

today we went to city square at johor bahru to watch ip man 2! in canto! woohoo!
city square felt like any other mall in singapore, honestly. the things were not that cheap either. but dinner was quite good at kim gary :)

ip man 2 was pretty much an extension of the first, the plot was almost similar to the first film too. basically, replacing the japs with brits. and at the end of the day, chinese pride! woohoooo! sammo hung, however, being sammo hung, added a good dose of fight scenes to satisfy movie-goers. i like how sammo hung pointed out ip man's flaws, like only thinking for himself. especially true when ip man is always portrayed as invincible. the movie is a huge exaggeration of ip man's life, i believe. nevertheless, its a really enjoyable movie to watch for pure entertainment. the portrayal of wing chun martial arts is cool and i'm pretty sure every guy will walk out of the cinema with the itch to do some martial arts. haha.

anyway, i'm really grateful that 961 brought me home in 20mins from woodlands! that's record timing! yay! alright. sleep time.

RARR!!!!
today was a roller coaster ride! hmm... actually that's not a good comparison, because i generally like the entire roller coaster ride. i mean, today i had both ups and downs!
afternoon call was kind of crap, but i guess, people move on whether i like it or not. i remember being sore about it before. maybe i still am, but that's only because i'm loyal and sentimental, which is not a bad thing, on the contrary, its a good thing, a good characteristic that God instilled in me. i wear it with pride :)

next, after what sam would call "nothing a flow of tears can't fix", was time for some good old epic fun! grace came over, but we couldn't go swimming cos it was raining cats and dogs, so we gleekd! then jasper came over, we youtubed tons of good clips - last choir standing, america funniest home videos shocks, toddlers, jose malaguena, etc. we made paper planes and roses! next, ordered sarpinos pizza, then the rain stopped around 7. swim time! grace and i wore goggle bangles, swam, talked a lot more, pizza under giant raindrops, talked a lot more, played at the slide, jasper got attached to the mickey mouse float he found, jacuzzi under the night sky with the trains as our background music. more stories and talks. good times! showered and rushed back for numbnuts. finally, the nice people went for more food at macs :) thanks big guy! for this good time, with good company, activities and food! You're amazing for providing all these blessings. amen!

oh and thanks for my friend. for still bothering to be my friend.
for telling me it's normal to be hit by the oncoming train a few more times before i sober up to reach the light at the end of the tunnel. thank you. thank You.

and i've KIND OF planned out my summer. if all goes well! i will be in hk, attachment in bvss and by then sorbonne will get back to me, i will be rushing through my sep prep and then i'll be shipped off! but that's all i'm planning! leaving the rest to BIG GUY who has BIGGER plans for me :)

post-exams has been good! indulging in all the movies that i've been missing.
and en2113 has exposed me to old school stuff. gonna watch Rebecca by Hitchcock tonight. can't wait! also, i want to re-decorate my room, which i will enjoy for 2+ months? then i'll be off to a new room with a view of la tour eiffel. (as if, but a girl can dream, no?)

i want to share with you how true this verse is. i know there are readers out there who will doubt me because of all the ungodly things i have done in the past, but God's grace upon me is beyond this earth. in the past, i have been a thrill-seeker, done my fair share of name calling and getting into fights. these always happened when i was provoked. i always thought that people owed it to me to treat me fairly and with respect. so in my teens, anyone who did the slightest unjust to me would face my wrath and confrontation. things changed these two years. i grew up and realised not everyone is within your control and there are people who will hurt you intentionally and/or unintentionally. i saw this in teachers' politics, my own circle of friends. i got hurt but i pulled through by God's grace. it wasn't an easy task but i moved on from the hurt by some so-called friends. who knew that this was in preparation of bigger obstacles in life? looking back at my days in ntss, i thought i was a tough girl who could get away with kicking bullies and no one can lay a finger on me. who knew that God had greater plans for me? plans to humble me and teach me that how tough am i is not dependent on me but in Him. ironically, it is the strongest women i meet that hold their families together while the men of the house lead frivolous superficial lives. they are strong women but where does their strength come from? Christ and Christ alone. In my current tribulation, had i not experienced betrayals from friends and seen the selfishness of others, i would never have the strength and patient to hold my tongue and control my actions. there are a hundred and one things i could have done to oust the scandalous lives some people are living. in fact, i have every reason to because i care for this person and want what is right to befall him. as the verse says, Christ strengthened me. before you say this sounds cliche, think of the person i was and the person i am now. it is impossible for me to turn a blind eye to wicked and deceitful men (and women) in the past. but there is Christ to turn to and trust in my life today. i pray and tell Him my frustrations, my anger. i cannot judge and carry out my own judgments. i know that God knows what is best for me because i am His responsibility. for all the people i mistreated in the past, i know i will have to answer to Him one day. more so i confess my sins because i have done things that upset God. my faith is still tested everyday. some days i believe, other days i doubt. thank you friends who have been encouraging me in this difficult time, for urging me to continue believing. thank you for your prayers and well wishes.

i'm fantasing about my trip over there. i think i'll be lonely like him too ): but his posts are so inspiring at the same time (: especially when God's grace is showered on him. didn't know he's like that. i feel like a stalker right now :S haha.
am i thinking too much about exchange? what if i don't get it? am i going to be superduper disappointed? oh no ): honestly, i wish i could have a good friend go with me to king's. (that is IF i can even get to king's) what so fun about experiencing all the wonders of a foreign land when you don't have someone close to share it with you? but i think i'm asking for too much. first going to king's which is smack in the heart of london and then have a close friend go with me. that's just too idealistic no? i want to believe in good...

oh and i can blog using my phone! but i should really change my signature. its pretty rude. lol. i have been refraining from sending emails to my moe scholarship officer because of that. imagine her reaction when she see the b word!

its late now. btw i got my first birthday present today! its a joshua harris book which i'm not very keen on reading because i'm too prideful and i hate to hear that i am wrong. i've already read chapter one and its a nightmare. its the worst wake up call ever. i mean my life has been the biggest wake up call but to have it pen down in words and published as a book is just horrifying. i feel like a huge coward. and maybe that's the way things are meant to be so that i may eat the humble pie and be put in my place again. so to whoever who chose to buy this book for me, thank you. anw, got this off robin's facebook. haha. its sad and funny how true this is in life. but i do say when i'm not happy leh! just that some people don't care. anyway, ben and jerry's totally made up for it last night. can't believe the spontaneousness but it was very nice to feel wanted again (and quite flattered)!

i'm reading boon kian's blog on his exchange now. i thought this entry was pretty funny. i wanna see less skyscrapers too! and this entry about his interaction with a local is too funny to miss. freakin' chinese twats. haha me included. so fun reading BK and Angus' blogs on their exchange. i'm so psyched already! but it's going to take a year and many blessings from above before that materialises. keep talking about exchange with lokwah and all. he says i should buy him a harrods teddy bear even tho its ex, since mr bean could afford it even though he's so stingy. i think lokwah went to the nicest places (: i should take note. prague, budapest and greece. bk's says that paris is the most unfrench place in france. i'm quite disheartened to hear that ): but i understand him. its exactly what i learn on socio-cultural impacts of global cities. but so far, i still like french culture. hm...

I'm suppose to pick a topic to study for Natural Resources: Policy and Practices. Here are the 3 choices: the Mekong River, Law of the Sea and Polar Regions.
I choose Polar Regions (: because the first man to reach both the poles was Capt. Roald Amundsen and I was in Watch Amundsen during my sec3 OBS! such affinity! Secondly, Sir Ernest Shackleton, one of the most prominent Antarctica explorers is a supporter of the Royal Geographical Society (so are darwin, edmund hillary and david livingstone). Go Geo! and lastly, they were both dressed by Thomas Burberry for their polar expeditions.

OK. so i realise they are shallow reasons for picking Polar Regions. but... de rien! j'aime ça!
i'm going to Antarctica one day just to see Emperor Penguins. WILL WORK TOWARDS IT!

also, i'm going to eat less meat. NEVER BUY FUR EVER. NOT EVEN FAUX FUR (and i'm proud to say i don't have ANY real or faux fur clothing, can't say the same for meat tho. i was a carnivore in my past life.) i'm ashamed to be human when i see some of them fellow humans and their actions. the way humans act when they have power over those who lack it. exactly as joaquim phoenix narrates in earthlings, some humans, because we have the power, treat others as mere objects. does all power relationships lead to injustice? i hope not. i've been served with morally disrespectful treatment before and it's a tough pill to swallow. humans can and do treat other humans unjustly (see holocaust, cheaters, sexists, racists, etc.). what more humans to animals? i'm no animal lover. i know tons of animal lovers (they all had a phase where their ambitions were to be veterinarians) and its so ironic how animal lovers are blindly included into the process of demeaning(or should i say cruelly murdering) animals. and not only them. i was one of those until today. i hope there comes a day where society changes and for the better of both man and the earth (plus all things on earth). i'm scared of our savageness and how it is seen as innate. alas! university education is enlightening. it's a great blessing that i have this chance to be exposed to such intelligence and thought process. (: kudos to you people who actually bothered reading my chunk of rants. just to sum things up, eat less meat, don't buy fur (don't even think about it), don't cheat on others, keep loving, (i'm starting to get all hippie) and get a religion because there's a high chance man will fail.

anyway, the cruelness of mankind:
(i'm suppose to upload some very graphic video here of animal rights violation and abuse but i can't find an appropriate one just yet. plus repeatedly watching it will just reduce the impact. so, no video to see cruel humans! just look at the mirror and yes. i am that cruel human. what decisions can i make today that will minimise pain on earth to everyone? think before acting)
if you're still looking forward to see graphic videos of animals being slaughtered, i suggest earthlings. yup, anal electrocution (most humane btw compared to skinning foxes alive) for fur, slitting of throats for cows, calves, pigs. imposed cannibalism. debeaking. clubbing. i'm speechless.

there's a very strange squeaking sound in my house now and it had better not be a mouse. OH YA. its the hamsters. i just rmb-d. lol. i hope they're not having some psychological stress cos they're in a new environment. we're just suppose to look after it for a week till auntie bella and her family comes back from their holidays.

the past week has been manageable. and that's good enough. my mid-term results are surprisingly not Cs which are a relieve considering i did the paper the day after i came back from GC and had all that drama to deal with.

so life's been returning back to normacy (sans companionship) and its picking up. i like it (: thank you guys for making it happen. i won't say its fantastically awesome in a barney sorta way but its moving on so that's ok right?

so this week the highlights are
- Le week-end, deepavali! lunch at auntie rosella's (good chat with cecilia - lion dance!), tecman shopping, asholi visited us from thailand, christine's pyjamas party, pass ernest birthday present, taught at the p4's sunday school, yum cha with good company, mcdonald's trip (kinda) and family time.
- Lundi, Nicholas the psychiatrist french tutor tells us his patient cases in class.
- Mardi, CMV went co-op shopping in the 5mins break and got happy food during AnimalGeog lect. i had my good ol' poiful. nostalgic. new lemon flavor!
- Mecredi project green dot stayed in school till 10.45pm to complete our write-up. BEST photobooth ever. Gabriel turns out to be a closet camwhore. also, wildfires is my favourite natural hazard by far.
- Jeudi, french test was jaw-dropping. Dr Pow saves the day by screening vegetable tales during lecture. hazards presentation was great! our poster was interactive and appealing. Cough Boy refused to take over the presentation from Sorethroat Girl but we all managed to answer the questions and James Terry said: "Excellent!" *paused* *smile*
after tutorial CMVH went for a movie screening at the library. watched The Witness. thought-provoking. i wonder if the day will come where everyone will do something about their morals. because clearly that has NOTHING to do with one's education level. even a potential phd grad can easily hurt others. the discussion was with Dr Neil who was very entertaining to watch. CMVH swear that this dude has ADHD. he cannot stop moving. but wth. he's cute, is a philo phd lecturer fr the states, only 25ish, and probably has the IQ of 200. adhd is definitely a condition we can all live with (:
oh and i learnt something from my "rhetorical question" stoner friend. he has the best email on earth. whymustitellyou@mail.com LOL! no one believes him. its a good trick.
- Vendredi, super stressed out by the write-up! but its over (: and its pretty good content wise. i hope Dr Neo thinks so too. went out with bevbevbev for dinner and the leungs. jemina and lonlon joined us after. had a good long chat with leo AND clark. just like good old times! its great. i miss clark. i always do. maybe if i can't find a husband and he's gay we can co-habit and just laugh all day long at our past. good plan no? lol. nonsensical. talking to leo after so long was cool. it's like we never separated at all even after i haven't seen him in years. its amazing how life has played the both of us. the most unlikely people to be played gets played by the most unlikely players. God always has His plans and i learnt not to question anymore. it's just a fragment of the whole picture that i can't see. anw, leo's going away soon. that's life! i wish him all the best. i've said so many goodbyes i should be pretty good at them by now. (:

Wednesday is a pretty good day. There's only 1 lecture and it's by Prof James Terry who's a great guy because he ends lecture early (haha. oh ya, he lectures quite well too). Plus lecture starts at 4pm! end around 5.15ish (:

Actually, I don't have a clear reason to blog today. So bear with my rants.

Ok. First of all, I REALLY REALLY enjoy my French classes, both tutorials and lectures. Too bad tutorials are only once a week. Semester is going to be over too ): means next sem i might not get Nicholas as my tutor. Well, Nicholas is my wacky French tutor who is really someone I look up to. He is a clinical psychologist with patients whom he claims will jump off buildings anytime. He teaches psychology in those private universities (an American one I think. hahahaha). Teach French in NTU and NUS. plus he lives in JB so he travels to work in Singapore everyday. siao! I like his lessons because he doesn't just teach the french language (which he is really good at) but he talks a lot about life too. I won't say I agree with all his thoughts but some of them I think really makes sense. Anyway, I'll blog about what he talks about some other day... I have readings to do now.

Time flies when you have fun. (but its so slow when you're feeling sucky. argh)
anw! we had a good time these five days and i have the coolest ee jeung ever! i love all the story-tellings.
happy times with my family! :D and the food trip with joyce and graces last sunday (not to mention all the fried food and sweet drinks, once in a while only k!).

school's been filled with work.
somehow i'm not THAT busy. i think i'm not doing my work. hahahaha. i THINK? i KNOW i'm not doing my readings. i really don't see the point anymore. i think i can kiss this sem byebye. WRONG ATTITUDE. VIC!!! JIA YOU!!! i can hear all my friends screaming at me. (particularly grace, i can so imagine you yell at me.)
speaking of school, i like my projects this semester (:
for nature and soc, we went/will be going to kelongs, mcdonald's, farms, nature-themed restaurants. so fun! normally i'm quite the typical singaporean complaining that i'm sick of town, singapore is so small, there's nothing to do. but after this project, i realised it's a matter of researching and taking the initiative to get down to doing things, having a more adventurous mentality and willingness to let go of what you're comfortable with. seriously, why haven't i kayaked to a kelong to have a sumptuous seafood dinner? not that i like seafood that much, but i definitely won't get to do this if i grew up in hongkong or australia right? i think i should do that one day (:
we also went to the zoo on sunday! when was the last time you went to the zoo eh? celine, gabriel, dr neo and i got to tour together at the start. that was pretty cool. my favourite part of the zoo was... haha the baboons. i don't have interest in monkeys at all but the baboons are seriously entertaining to watch. it's a pity i didn't take a picture of the one sleeping with its legs wide open and hands on its crotch. celine, gab and i had a really good laugh for that since it was sleeping right in front of the viewing gallery. then there's also the ones fighting with each other, eating ticks off each other and the baby looking for the baboon mother's boobs to breastfeed. all this with those heart-shaped bums staring at you. and to think scientists say we evolved from monkeys. sheesh...
and as usual, i enjoyed the penguins and polar bears. speaking of penguins, i learnt from the latest episode of how i met your mother that emperor penguins bow to each other before they mate. how cute is that! haha!!! maybe i should go to south africa for my SEP and fly to antarctica to see emperor penguins x) ohhhh how i digress.
anyway, as much as i'm happy for the chance to see all these amazing God creations in the zoo, i feel bad that they're held captive in this tiny zoo ): it's SO compact i tell you, there are easily 30 types of animal species in that maybe 5 hectares of land? and it's not even high-rised! meaning the density is x100000!!! poor polar bear and penguins ): i'm biased to the animals i like. :P
as for my cities project, i get to go to town! we're researching on ngee ann city ^^ so its nice that we can window shop and learn about orchard road at the same time. like... did you know there's a canal running underneath orchard? or why takashimaya may still reign as the icon of orchard road even with the introduction of ion?
and finally for my hazards project... well i shan't bore you with the details here but i like my group (:
in fact, i like all my group members for all my projects. thank God that it's one part of my life that is well. THANK YOU!

when i look at the life there, i realised how far God is away from them. how foolish i was to immerse myself with pagans and how i now face the consequences. i am never a superficial person. like the bible says, the days are evil, indeed it is, filled with fearlessness of God and sin, obsess with one's own self. i made a huge mistake by agreeing what they did was technically correct. there is no technicality. there is the bible and God's judgment which is black and white. Lord, i'm sorry for the things that i did, thanking her for their sins and continuing the devil's work. by Your work, there was fear and guilt instilled in them when they step out into the light. Heavenly Father, I need your divine intervention. I know the theories of the things that has happened. I surrender my heart to you. Everything that it is going through, the pain, the hurt and heartbreak. Please help me surrender all the pieces of my broken heart that You may mend it into a new piece that is for You. I trust that You are just and will treat us all justly in Your time. please bless me with an obedient heart to follow You that I learn from my mistakes and not circle in the desert for 40years as did the Israelis in Exodus. I'm just beyond hurt that someone who promised you so much can throw it all away and overnight stop loving you. i don't understand how can you not treasure what you have, even if you know that it is good. i am beyond shock that someone can be so selfish. not only to want the best of all worlds, good studies, a girl companion in melbourne and a girlfriend in singapore. grasping all that in your hand, you can only lose all of them. and you have no one to blame but yourself. gone are the days i try to comfort you and make you feel better. indeed, i thought that was loving you, to tell you to move on with your life. now, i've realised that i have only been condoning your selfish acts, giving in to your wrongdoings and allowing you to go deeper into your sin. you are so easily contented with your lifestyle that from today onwards, you have to bear your own cross. your own burden, your own sins and wrongdoings. today onwards, you will learn to face the consequences and bear the responsibility of every wrong thing you have done. i believe that it will get you down now but i know, it can only make you a better person for the future. i will keep you in prayer everyday, that you go back to the good person you started out as.

today is a fairly good day (:

it began rather badly. omg. i couldn't stop thinking WAY TOO MUCH.
my diamonds flowed and flowed and flowed :s people started asking if i was sick. haha. i guess i was inside.
then we had lunch with the timon ppl at the usual dirty but very delish hawker otherwise known as canteen A.
and today the ban mian lady remembered to return me my $46 change! :D maybe we should cut her some slack from taking too long to deliver our food...

guess who did i just catch on TV?
prof james terry! haha. my dad was watching some news about typhoon morakot and he asked if i knew who this geog prof was. so eggcitingggg lehhhh. my prof on TV!!! ok calm down.
i've never really been a physical geographer but in terms of natural hazards... count me in! maybe i'm just morbid but i think i like it because it brings out the wild side of nature, dangerous and hence exciting. i mean... nature can be beautiful and scenic, rainbows and butterflies but the crashing waves and erupting volcanoes! really sets your heart racing! (: am i thrill seeker? but i feel that my life is quite mundane leh ): LOL.

NAH. school started! and i was already nodding off on the first day? yikes! i just needed some adjustment time from ~~jet~~ holiday lag. but today was good! did my readings (: so proud of myself. woot woot! i will keep up my healthy routine! eat fruit everyday, swim and run every week, sleep and wake up early, do my morning devotions. *big smile*

ANYWAY! woke up to meet BEVERLY (shall call her that fr now onwards) at clementi to buy our baking ingredients. had a quick brunch at mos burger, toured our dear northerner the west side and went to ntuc. hahahaha. so freakin' lost at the fruits and veg counters. pretending we know how to choose fresh ingredients when we don't know shit. then we walked under the scorching sun to redman! bought more baking ingredients.

at home, we were quite tired from all the shopping. haha. noob. but we tried to make the carrot cake anyway. in the end maila did 70% of the work ehhhhh hahahaha. i think she couldn't bear to watch us wreck everything. LOL. so hmm...
BUT! i am proud to announce! we made the fruit blended strawberry orange juice ourselves! :D
it tasted not bad!
sadly... the same cannot be said of the carrot cake ): it was abit over cooked. quite hard. the icing was good tho! like... obviously. cos it was just made of icing sugar.

went to prinsep st, mind cafe to meet manyan, sau ling, fiona and her friend li lian.
played for a good 5hours cos it was free (: ladies' night.

just watched the latest episode of grey's anatomy.
OMG! those doctors are really messed up. and they're suppose to be doctors who save lives. lol.
it was absolutely entertaining.
and the elevator love letter is super sweet (+cheesy like typical tv but we're still glued anyway)! (i loved how the chief blocked Meredith - "You can't tell me which elevator to take!")
Shonda Rhimes is a great writer. she made everything that was predictable come true while keeping it intense and interesting.
and Alex is rising up the ranks.

not much M and L today! (i'm trying not to spoil here... but... nvm)
but D and M, A and I made up for it.

yay! its monday and it feels like holidays cos i completed some work through the weekend :D
and my lecture is 4-6pm later. i should be catching up on my readings now...

anw! i watched flow: for the love of water last night on okto and it was one of the best documentaries i've seen. i think it is more enjoyable than an inconvenient truth because there's still hope. an inconvenient truth felt like we're a lost cause. haha.

what struck me in the movie is how greed manifest and multinational companies somehow always get finger pointed at. i think there is some truth to an extent yet i don't think that's the only answer to all the injustice that the marginalized face. in any case, the best point from the movie is why should we pay for the natural resource provided from God that was mean to be free for everyone? who are the corporations to take water freely from nature and sell to make money from us?
my favourite quotes from the movie was from the red indian chief's letter to frontier conquerers.

The earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.

wise words from an old chief. haha. how cliché.
he does have a good point though, on how we should treat the earth.

ok! back to my readings. i can't wait for summer. i wanna watch public enemies, 500 days of summer, sunshine cleaning and drag me to hell! wow. that's a lot. the drag me to hell trailer is so awesome! sam raimi's back with his hilarious horror films. i'm sick of all the spiderman franchises.

i was looking out into the sky from the bus window today and i realized how big and fluffy clouds are. for too long have i been cooped up in my academic cage to realize the real world from the books. and boy do the clouds look comfy compared to that from climo- powerpoint slides and textbooks. they were luring me into jumping on them and rolling in joy and laughter. now i just wanna lie down on the plain grass and enjoy the cloudy blue sky.

tonight i shall post a proper decent post that hasn't been posted in a long long time.
university this semester has been... zooming. haha. time is flying. we're all mugging. the world still spinning. but i'm getting lovin' (: oui, marcus c'est toi. et autres aussi! comme mes sœurs ;)

school time! first of all. yesterday the lecturer canceled out on us last minute. and that was the ONLY lecture i had that day. absolutely wasted my trip to school. sheesh!

on a better note, how i met your mother and one tree hill is awesome! i'm getting a little bit bored with gossip girl, its just drama and scheming every episode... or maybe i'm slightly disappointed with the blair chuck situation. (which bores my poor baby to death, haha) one tree hill was getting bland but how i love happy endings! it's one of the tv shows i watch that has great music, a pretty good-looking cast and more importantly, portrays how happy (married)couples can be! plus their kids are totally stealing the show by being adorable and all. now almost everyone is paired up quite happily. how rare of tv series. usually there's is always one huge dramatic couple dealing with a problem that is more complicated than the situation in gaza. (yes rachel and ross, i'm talking about you) how i met your mother as usual, never disappoints. heart heart heart barney/neilpatrickharris! lost his golden globe to tom wilkinson. seriously!!! some love to him pls.

OK. enough of my tv rantings. haha. back to reality. 34 more days to boyfriend's departure. yup. i'm still holding it all together. (: we'll be ok. no worries. yeah. shoutout to you boy, ilypp!!!

headed to city hall to meet ernest for the boys regularly shopping at funan.
i went to see my folks and complete my francais devoir.
helped my daddy fix his com a little then met the boys doing their shopping.
