hymn to the fallen -JohnWilliams
mardi, décembre 6

wini, thanks for the warning.
cos thats what exactly happened.

the camp was tiring for a non-training camp.
rented bikes and rode around pulau ubin.
then came a series of unfortunate events.
my poor mei mei jialin performed a superman from her bike.
luckily it wasnt a george-of-the-jungle!
so she headed back to singapore island for treatment.
her poor chin had stitches! well, at least she has a noble reason for her fall.
my stitched chin?! cos i ran into the pillar during catching in school.
the show must go on.
so we rode to the quarry and my dear mommie grace fell into the puddle while cycling!
the puddles had rocks in them ):
and while riding thru the puddles yours truly had to put her foot into the puddle to push the bike so it was a goodbye to my f-up toe.
this camp taught me st john skills!
everyday there was some dressing to be done on someone's wound.
i'm glad to be home.

during the night grace, sam, ms cheah and i started a 'campfire'
which no one else except us used.
but it was the most fulfilling thing i did in the camp.
learnt to start a fire. (:
the night was sleepless. the waves got us cos the tide came in slowly.
wearing a sweater and a tee, my back still came in contact with the dirty seawater.
rashes now. groans.
slept in a tent that had zero ventilation with what feels like a thousand people inside. on the hard sand.
so grateful of my bed now.

next morning had a walk to the coast, hang out there for a while.
then we had thai coconut drinks which was fantastic. sweet and soft.
lastly for home we headed!
slept in cabby and surprisingly we didnt get chased out for being stinky.

got home and took a long good bath.
after that fell into a deer slumber at noon.

well, to those who thought my poor jialin was badly hurt... and to my ignorant self.
you havent seen no shit yet.
cos i just watched saving private ryan.
giving birth is painful for women.
but the psychological effects of war on men is ten times worse.
not that i know what it feels like to deliever a child.
but imagine watching soldiers next to you picking up their arm that have just been blown up. or intestines next to you of other 18yr old men boy who is yelling for his mom.

for now, i wish my spastic sister speedy recovery.
off to watch some comedy before i slit my wrist from all this sheeeeet.
